The Post that Sleepy Ate

I would love to have something intelligent and witty to say today, but I'm just so sleepy.

The Husband and I are alternating sleeping...one night he sleeps well and the next it's my turn. I'm not sure if this is some sort of marriage equilibrium that we've achieved or if we are just freaks of nature, but that's how the week has gone so far.

Last night was his turn to sleep, apparently.

Work has been rather slow, which is compounded by the fact that I'm waiting to hear about the aforementioned restructuring to see if there's anything exciting in it for me...but none of that can happen until the end of this month and so far this month is taking FOR-EV-ER.

In other news, I feel like I should be doing SOMETHING to get ready for the Boy--he's due in 12 weeks, people, 12! And could technically come at any time between 8 and 12 weeks! And I fully acknowledge that we have yet to find an apartment in which to live, The Husband has no internship fixed and I haven't even begun to pack for this move to nowhere--but I STILL need to be getting ready for the Boy and I don't know where to start!

PLEASE!! What should I be doing to get ready?

That's too funny! This morning I was getting bummed because I don't have anything to do to get ready. I wish I had known with Alayna that there is so little that you need at first. The crib (or other sleeping place) ready, some clothes washed and folded and diapers. I wouldn't even get bottles and whatnot "in case you can't nurse". Because if you have formula there you are more likely to give up and bottle feed in the middle of a rough night...at least that's what I think. Oh, and some pacifiers, a thermometer, vaseline (for said thermometer and rashy bums) and a few blankets. Seriously. That's it. Oh, and your boobs. But I assume you keep those with you at all times. :)

My advice: prepare your heart. Let it know to be ready to expand at least eight hundred million thousand times - and that's eight hundred million thousand times more than what you are already expecting, just so you know. And that's only when he's first born. It will continue to fill past capacity from that point on. Best feeling EVER!! :)

We can talk about all that practical b.s. during one of our chat breaks! ;)
