Destination Discouragement

There are a number of things I could talk about. The Husband is now 8 for 10 as far as rejection letters go for Fellowship applications. The Boy was up from 1am until 3am and then again at 6am for no apparent reason at all. Thanksgiving is next week and I hate Thanksgiving. I'm all for being grateful, but I hate all the hoopla, it's just too much--too much food, too much football, too much shopping so that by the end of it everyone is over-full, broke and irritable.

So, instead of my whinging and worrying I will present you with the one ray of light in all this autumnal gloom:

Dude! I just made that little ray of sunshine the background on my desktop! (Hope you don't mind.) Doesn't he look happy and toasty in those awesome jammies. I was dreading going to buy the boy clothes tonight but now I'm excited! Poop on the letters. Not really, I'm just saying poop. I hope things look up for you soon. Oh, did you know my b-day is on Thanksgiving this year? Be thankful for THAT! Ha! I'm thinking that since it's my birthday I get to pick dinner and it will not involve a turkey. So there.

That is a very cute photo of the boy! I love those open mouthed smiles.

Last year for Thanksgiving Jared and I bucked all tradition and went out for Indian food. It was fabulous. Um, not so sure what we are doing this year. When you live far from family, its easy to keep it low key.

Ugh, Eli went through a phase like that for a couple weeks. We were NOT amused to say the least.
Hey, you should move here to Switzerland, no Thanksgiving here ;)

That photo alone has amazing magical powers! Totally cheered me up. Wonder what other magic he does. Can you ask him if he makes large piles of dirty dishes disappear? With that grin, I'd totally believe it.
